Tea Cup Layout by Lorilei Murphy

Hello! Lorilei here today! Hope you are having a good day! Paige has the most adorable Tea Cup cut file in Silhouette. My daughter has been enjoying a cup of tea most afternoons while she does homework or studies, so I snapped up this design.
I cut the tea cup as it is from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo 3. I then removed the tiny flowers from inside the tea cup and cut it again the same size. Lastly, I added a border to the outline of the teacup and cut it from white cardstock. I ended up with three versions of the cut file. I added patterned paper from the Whimsical 6x6 Paper Pad (Paper 05) behind the tiny flowers. The mini hexagons did a nice job of spacing out the color to make the different flowers stand out. I backed the handle and saucer with Paper 08.
I backed the 2nd tea cup I cut with purple ombre paper just in the top of the cup (where the liquid would be) this will allow me to slip my photo and tea packet into the cup. I glued all the tea cup cut files together except for the top portion and the inside of the teacup. Once I decided on placement for my layout, I attached the tea cup to the background with some foam.
I slipped my photo and tea packet into the cup and added a few pop dots and some adhesive to secure them. I fiddled around for quite awhile on where to add the string tag for the tea. As you can see I settled on attaching it to the top of the layout and let the string trail down to the cup. I printed out some journaling, added a few of the sticker washi tapes from the Sticker Book to that area, and stapled it to the layout. I decided to cut some white butterflies from Paige's Butterfly Border cut file to use as accents. I adhered the butterflies with pop dots and layered a few of them on top of each other for more dimension.
To finish off the layout I cut one of the sweet cards from Paper 13 and tucked it by the photo. I also cut a sentiment from Paper 08 to create a cluster spot at the bottom of the layout to balance the top cluster. A couple more strips of washi from the Sticker Book and I was done!
