Love You Tons Layout

The Winter 2018 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine is out and available for free download! It's the most amazing scrapbook and card magazine there is, so definitely give it a look! I have two layouts inside, here is the first which is all about TEXTURE in the form of hand stitching, fringe, and modeling paste.
Check out this process video to see how the layout came together from start-to-finish:
I started by creating a large LOVE YOU TONS title (with stitching holes!) and then die cut it from smooth white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 3. Find the free LOVE YOU TONS cut file by clicking here. It includes the .studio3, .svg, .dxf, and .png so you can use it with whatever die cutting machine you own. I then spent a few hours doing a chain link stitch around each letter through the pre-pierced holes using all 6 strands of white DMC embroidery floss. I printed three black & white photos to fit behind the Os and wrote journaling with a black pen around the middle O.
Then I trimmed each strip of color from Whimsical Paper 16 and fringed them with specialty scissors. I adhered them to a scratch piece of paper in rainbow order and then used it to back the large title background. The final step was adding white modeling paste through a heart stencil in three spots on the background to create a visual triangle.
I hope you have learned some new ways to add texture to your layouts and you're inspired to pick up the Winter 2018 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine!
