Pop-Up Cards by Elsie Robinson

Hey everyone, it’s Elsie Robinson! I’ve been really enjoying card making recently so I was really excited when Paige asked me to create some cards for today’s post. These DIY pop-up cards are not only easy to create, but they can work with any kind of theme/style. I felt really inspired whilst making these cards so each card has a different theme. Luckily with the wide variety of Paige's cut files it was very easy to create exactly what I wanted! I mainly used the Truly Grateful collection to create these cards, as well as a few bits and pieces from Horizon and Whimsical. And I have a process video at the end of this post which shows how I made each card step-by-step!
First up, we have a Halloween card! Halloween is perhaps my favourite “holiday” and Paige’s Halloween-themed cut files are always a favourite of mine! For the card front I cut the Happy Halloween Banner from black cardstock and backed each letter with silver glitter paper. I used Paper 08 from Whimsical for the background and jazzed it up with white acrylic paint splatters and embellished with the Spiderweb and Spider cut file cut from white cardstock.

For the pop-up element inside the card, I used the Halloween Characters cut file and embellished with some more Spiderwebs (cut from black cardstock) and used Paper 10 from Truly Grateful as the background.

Next we have a birthday card and I used this fun Balloons cut file for the pop-up element. I backed each balloon with a different patterned paper for a fun and colourful look. I also used the paint brush strokes pattern (Paper 24 from Horizon) as the background to add even more colour.

For the card front, I cut this Happy Birthday cut file from white cardstock. I also used my Silhouette Design Studio software to ungroup the cut file so I could just cut out the outline which meant I could easily back this intricate cut file with the floral patterned paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad.

Finally, I created a ‘new baby’ card. I used the Baby cut file title for the card front and backed it with different shades of blue patterned papers since this card will go to some friends who are expecting a boy!

For the inside of the card I put together a cute little scene with each of the animals (from the Baby Animals cut file) creating the pop-up elements. I used Paper 08 from Horizon for the sky, Paper 03 from Truly Grateful for the grass, and I cut and stitched a cute little path from white cardstock which also doubles as a place to write my message. I used the Truly Grateful tree and floral Cardstock Stickers to embellish and the sun sticker from the Epoxy Stickers to finish off the scene.
