Bungalow Lane Coptic Book by Amber Mitchell

Monday, May 2, 2022

Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige’s blog today to share with you a coptic book I created using the Bungalow Lane collection.

The covers of this coptic book are made from Wooden Covers that I purchased from Paige’s Etsy Shop. I used acrylic paint and washi tape to outline and paint pale pink, light blue, and mustard yellow stripes on both covers. These colors coordinated perfectly with the colors in the Bungalow Lane collection. For a more rustic look, I opted to let the natural wood of the covers peek through in-between the painted stripes.

Since the covers measure 4 x 6 inches, I trimmed all of my pages to 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches and folded them in half. I decided to use six signatures for this book, each one consisting of three pages. So, in total, my book is made up of 18 pages.

I used the covers as a guide for where to poke the holes in my signatures and then stitched the book together using mustard yellow embroidery thread. Throughout the stitching, I added charms, both from my stash and Heart Charms from the Bungalow Lane collection. I created a few extra charms by backing some of the Embossed Puffy Stickers together.

To embellish the cover of this book, I used two of the Layered Flower and Leaves Cut Files from Paige. I cut three flowers from scrap paper using my Cricut and staggered them on the cover. For the center of the flowers, I used a button sticker from the Embossed Puffy Stickers and a few small heart stickers from the Foam Phrase Stickers. I layered three of the Stitched Leaves on the cover as well to tie everything together. For a bit more flair, I added a few gold leaf stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book and finished the book off with a fun pom pom charm I created.

Coptic Books are one of my favorite things to create. They are so fun to stitch together and can be used for so many different types of projects. It’s a great skill to have, so if you’re interested, I highly suggest checking out Paige’s in-depth class!

Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I’ll see you next time with another fun project!
