Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here back with a vibrant summer layout featuring Paige's Mermaid cut file and her gorgeous Happy Haven collection! This page features a cute photo of my niece living her best mermaid life along with a fun mixed media background full of fun textures and colors.
To begin, I cut the Mermaid from white cardstock and backed it with aqua glitter cardstock, beige cardstock, sequins, and my favorite yellow floral Paper 5 to represent her hair. Next, I pulled a blue paper with navy heart stripes from the 12x12 Project Pad as my main background. I distressed the edges and splattered Distress Oxides in coordinating colors to a white resist paper from my stash. I love how the scallops imitate waves in an ocean. Then I placed strips of torn scraps from the Happy Haven collection in the center of the layout along with yellow scalloped washi tape and pink riff raff for even more texture. I adhered the photo over a blue floral frame from the Foam Stickers and added aqua flowers from the Floral Die Cuts to the corners. I adhered the finished cut file beside the photo and added gold mini Thickers to create my title. Final touches were splatters of gold paint and sprinkles of enamel dots around the page.
