Cross-Stitched Layout by Audrey Mutschall

Hello friends and Happy New Year! Audrey Mutschall here with one more Christmas layout featuring Paige’s Very Merry Christmas collection. As soon as I saw the Holiday Style Paper I knew I needed to stitch it - it’s such a pretty pattern and hand stitching over top creates the most gorgeous texture and dimension.
I started by piercing holes with a pin at the corners of the “X”s. Next I separated my embroidery floss skeins and decided to stitch with four strands of floss. I tried using three strands, but it looked a little flat; I tried five strands, but the definition of each “X” was lost, so I settled on four strands. It took me about a week to complete the stitching and I decided to only stitch about two-thirds of the paper. I wanted to leave space at the bottom of the layout for a less “busy” looking paper, which would serve as a background for my photo and title. I chose the green side of the It’s Giving Christmas Paper for my background and adhered the cross-stitched paper on top using foam tape. I matted my photo with a piece of the Holiday Hustle Paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad and placed it on the left side of my layout. I added a title to the right of my photo using Chipboard Stickers and Cardstock Phrase Stickers then embellished with Icon Ephemera Die Cuts and a few other goodies from my stash. I absolutely loved creating this festive stitched page and I hope it inspires you to finish up your holiday projects using Paige’s gorgeous Very Merry Christmas collection!
