The kids had a 4-day weekend at the end of April so what are we to do but pack up and head to the Happiest Place on Earth aka DISNEYLAND?!
We usually only visit the parks in October so it was fun to wear "everyday" Disneyland stuff.
I'm READY!
Flying over Vegas - hi Allie! It was a beautiful day in Orange County.
We Ubered to the Grand Californian and checked into our room. Poor Fox was feeling miserable, he ended up having strep throat, so Chris called him in an RX and he stayed in the room to sleep while the rest of us headed out to dinner. Once he got a nap and his meds he perked right up thankfully!
We admired the Rice Krispie treat Winnie the Pooh display in the lobby.

Fox was having FOMO so he did venture out with us to get an after dinner treat.
My favorite snack is an apple pie caramel apple from the Sweets shop.
Fox gets a Mickey bar and Jane doesn't get anything and I have no idea why not.
We had a good sleep and then woke up bright and early for rope drop. We don't belong to the Disney Vacation Club, I just love the backdrop.

Imagine my surprise when I turned around and saw this dude wearing a The Fainting Goat, Wallace Idaho hat!! Who's ever even heard of Wallace, much less has a hat from a little restaurant there?! Of course I HAD to go talk to him about it because that's my favorite restaurant. Life is so funny sometimes.

We made a mad dash to Peter Pan's Flight.
So did everyone else.

We waited in line for probably 20-30 minutes to get on Peter Pan.
I missed my own bird's nest at home and was happy to see birdies nesting in this lamp.

I got my nails painted to match It's a Small World and my left thumb was painted with the clock face which was on the back of this lady's shirt! My thumb is blurry, but it was a funny moment.

We love going to the Blue Bayou - the ambiance can't be beat and the mint julips, gumbo, and monte cristo sandwiches are delish.

At this point Chris had left the bubble to go pick up Fox's prescription. So I took the kids on the Haunted Mansion.
Then we devoured yummy chocolate chip cookies.
We were all totally faked out by the two pelicans on the left. The bird on the right is real. I think.

Chris was standing on this "1" square waiting to get on the elevator for Guardians of the Galaxy Missions Breakout and was literally hit by cast member coming out of the door. This seems super sketch no?!?!
I don't have any more photos from the rest of the day so I don't remember exactly what we did... I do know I got another apple pie caramel apple! I wore the same pants the 2nd day. Hey, when in Disney!
We rope dropped at Disneyland again.
We missed a lot of the kiddie rides the day before so we went on Snow White.

We got lunch at the Red Rose Tavern.
I'm writing this in August, and either I really didn't take any photos the rest of the day or they somehow got erased because all I can find from California Adventure is this one pic of Chris and I going on the Grizzly River Run - this is the first time I've been on it in YEARS because I do not like getting wet - hence the ponchos.
I'm sure I got a final apple pie caramel apple for my dessert and we went to sleep. Early the next morning we packed up and flew back to Denver.
We always have SO MUCH FUN at Disneyland. I wish we could go every weekend! Funnily enough, it was our 19th anniversary less than 2 weeks later and we flew to Orlando to go see Starset at the Welcome to Rockville festival and also spent a day at Disney World (that's where we went on our honeymoon!) so my It's a Small World nails got good use :)
