Summer Cut File 1 of 24: Summer

The 1st of the 24 Days of Summer Cut Files was just sent out and here are 2 layouts made with today's Summer Cut File!

Design Team Member Audrey Mutschall created this super adorable layout! She says, "I started with white cardstock for the Summer Cut File and backed the various elements within the cut file using patterned papers from the Splendid collection. When that was complete, I used six of the gold-foiled patterned papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad to back the letters of the cut file. This was a fun way to finally use those pretty, shiny papers that I’ve been admiring! After the cut file was backed, I cut an offset from Paper 1 to go behind it; this black polka dot paper is really fun and helps the cut file stand out against the background. To make the background, I cut a Sunburst Rays out of Paper 5 and placed it on white cardstock which was lightly splattered with paint to match the cut file. After gluing the sunburst in place, I machine stitched in black thread along the white sections of the background - this helps to tie in with the outline behind the cut file. With the background complete, I arranged the cut file slightly at an angle and added two photos. I embellished around the page using stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book and the Epoxy Stickers. I had so much fun with this cut file, and I hope it inspires you to create something with Paige’s newest bundle of 24 Days of Summer Cut Files!"

Design Team Member Jackie Ashton created this totally cute layout! She says, "I cut the Summer Cut File from white cardstock and backed each letter with various patterned papers from Paige’s Splendid collection - I used papers from the 12x12 Paper Pad and the 6x8 Paper Pad. After backing each letter, I added foam squares to give my page some dimension. I adhered the cut file to the orange patterned paper from the 12x12 Paper Pad at a slight angle. My photographs are printed at 2x3" and layered on some distressed edged patterned papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I added stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book and phrases from the Epoxy Stickers.
