The One with the Seize the Day Card

I made this card for the Create blog a couple weeks ago. It's a friendly reminder to SEIZE THE DAY!

I just can't get enough of banners. I don't know if I'll ever grow tired of this trend.

How to: Start with a cream cardstock card base. Trace a round object onto yellow white/pink polka dot paper, cut it out, adhere it to the top left corner then trim the excess. Straight stitch around the card edges using white thread. Hand draw a scalloped border with a brown pen under the bottom line of stitching. Trim down a "seize the day" sentiment tag (which AC calls Bits) and set aside. Cut different lengths of washi tape (or as AC calls it, Mixtape), fold each piece in half over a piece of white string, then notch the bottom ends of the washi tape to create pennants. Leave a gap for the sentiment then adhere the banner around the curve of the patterned paper. Add the sentiment tag in the gap. Place a dimensional flower sticker (aka a Detail) on top of the patterned paper and call it good!

Cardstock, patterned paper, washi tape, dimensional flower sticker, sentiment tag, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; String: DMC; Paper cutter: Fiskars; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark
