Noteworthy Moments Mini Album

Saturday, April 14, 2018

I have a new mini album to share with you today featuring the brand new Noteworthy collection by Elle's Studio!
Check out the process video so you can see how this mini album came to be - the entire project only took about an hour!
This was originally going to be a layout and would have looked something like this below (without all the gaps between), but then my scrappy friend Zsoka joked that I should turn it into a mini album because I was bugging her to make something into a mini album lol. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized this would be a perfect mini album!
I started with Noteworthy Paper 5 with all of the colorful journaling spots, perfect for holding little memories. I went through our travel photos and found ones with bright colors to match the colored rectangles and then printed 12 of them at about 2" square. When I trimmed the photos I left a white border around each one for breathing room. I placed the photos in their designated spots and then got to work embellishing.
There's a package of die cuts in Noteworthy so I pulled them all out and placed them color-on-color across the page. I trimmed down the blank labels, word labels, and cut outs into their individual pieces and also placed those color-on-color. Then I went through section by section and "cleaned it up", essentially figuring out the placement.
I matted a few of the photos with torn bits of patterned paper from the 6x6 papers. I love the texture this adds as well as even more color.
There are coordinating epoxy circles and puffy stickers in Noteworthy which became the perfect finishing embellishments for each section. At the top of every card I added a matching sentiment. Travel photos are perfect for a lot of the Noteworthy phrases.
Once I figured out the placement of all the bits and pieces I came in with dimensional adhesive and adhered everything down. Then I did like Missy Whidden does and added string behind each photo for that extra pop of color and texture.
I went through my pen stash and found matching pens to write the date and location on each section - some of the pens I used are over 16 years old, can you believe it?!
It was at this point that I decided to turn the page into a mini album - the divided sections lend themselves perfectly to little pages. I cut each section apart using scissors and then punched a hole through the top of every page to make a tag, held together with a 1" binder ring.
Here are the rest of the pages of this quick and easy mini album:
For the cover I trimmed down one of the journaling cards to 3x4", placed "MOMENTS" puffy stickers down the side, replaced the "O" with a "noteworthy" epoxy sticker, and then stitched through the title with my sewing machine. It had a bit of a rough time going through the epoxy circle, but it did and didn't break the needle! I punched a hole through the top and added it to the mini album to finish!
All of the colorful pieces work seamlessly together to help get your memories documented in no time!
