Such a Cute Girl Layout (Chevrons)

Sunday, June 14, 2020

With every one of my scrapbook collections I love to create a few standard layouts, including one with chevrons!
This is the Bloom Street edition :)
Here is a process video so you can see how this layout came together:

Trim off the barcode strip from the salmon pink B-side Paper 18 to use as the background. Trim off the barcode strip from the multi-patterned Paper 07 (save the barcode strip for later!), then trim the paper into the individual squares of patterns. Cut each of the squares in half diagonally to create triangles.
With a ruler, lightly mark with a pencil at the 3”, 6” and 9” left and right edges of the layout. Starting on the top left, arrange the triangles into the first line of chevrons following the pattern as shown and use foam squares to attach them in place for dimension. Tip: You can place the triangles in a rainbow order as shown or try creating your own colorways! After placing the first line of triangles, move down to the 6” mark and continue adhering them, followed by the last line at the 9” mark.
Splash watered down white acrylic paint over the entire page with a paintbrush and let it dry. Overlap two 3x4” photos on the right side and secure with adhesive. Rip and bend down a section of the top edge and the bottom middle. Back the torn sections with pieces of the patterned barcode strip saved from Paper 07. Place “SUCH A CUTE GIRL” Floral Foam Thickers at angles following the chevron on the middle leading to the photos. Adhere a pink hummingbird Ephemera Die Cut and pink "JOY" Puffy Word Sticker over the pink section of triangles, a bumblebee Ephemera Die Cuts above the title, a “beautiful” floral bouquet from the Ephemera Die Cuts over the blue triangles, and a dark blue hummingbird Ephemera Die Cut over the dark blue pieces to create interest and add embellishment.

To finish, write journaling with a dark blue pen between the bottom chevrons, following the angles of the gap. That's it! This layout took 22 minutes to create in real time - that's my kinda layout! I hope you are inspired to pick up my Bloom Street collection and scrap your precious memories!
