Dance in the Rain Layout by Kelly Daye

Hello, hello! Kelly Daye back to share a Silhouette Design Team layout for Paige. Once again, I've enjoyed designing with the sweet Bloom Street collection. Even though Go the Scenic Route arrives soon, I couldn't help myself and just bought more Bloom Street. It’s just so pretty.
Many things inspire my designs including: projects you share, Paige’s gorgeous inspirations, wonderful collections, life in general, and music too. I've fallen hard for a pretty song by Kacey Musgraves called ‘Rainbow’ and added a verse around a scalloped edge. I did it all on my Cameo using Paige’s Scalloped Border Cut File and a silver metallic Cameo Sketch Pen. Watch my how-to video if you'd like to learn how:

Once I had Paper 20 sketched and cut, I filled in some little spaces in the writing, like the e, p, a, f, with matching Copic Markers. It helped tie it back to the foreground, raindrop Paper 19. I love how this looks.

The waves we float along in are made from a cut file in Paige's 20 Days of Summer Cut Files. It's called Waves Background. My waves are paper-backed with Paper 02 and Paper 22 then cut in half. I placed them onto my layout, slightly overlapping each other. The bottom half was popped up with foam tape to create a space for the Teacup.

Since the background paper already had a tiny pattern, I decided to edit the Teacup cut file to remove the tiny details on it. Pretty Paper 12 is the front and Paper 04 is the back. I added chain stitching with silver metallic thread, an umbrella, floral spray, and the Pinwheel cut file to make it the focal point of my layout. The cup was a fun place to tuck in photos. There’s me and Jim in Maui. I’m trying to do one of those jump-in-the-air shots. Unfortunately, it was an epic fail when I made a big splash falling into the ocean, ha! Like me in Maui, the title, ‘Dance In The Rain’ from the exclusive scrapbook.com Stickers, is tucked into the waves. Finally, a rainbow was made by blending inks on the back of a piece of vellum using a stencil I made to fit my design. I love that it’s see through. I added a small collage of ephemera to create a visual triangle on my layout. The ‘showered with love’ sticker couldn’t be any more perfect, because I truly am!

Thanks so kindly for stopping by!  Until next time, stay well and happy scrapping!
