Circle Accordion Mini Album by Amber Mitchell

Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you this fun mini album I created to document some older fall memories.
I created this cute accordion mini using the Truly Grateful collection and Paige's Circle Accordion Mini Album cut file.
I was so excited when September finally rolled around as that means autumn weather is just around the corner! This being my favorite time of year meant it was time to break out the fall-themed craft supplies! The Truly Grateful collection is so perfect for documenting this time of year. The colors are autumnal while still being vibrant and fun!
I created this mini album by first resizing the Circle Accordion Mini Album cut file to fit within an 8.5x11" margin. Once all my pieces were cut, I added machine stitching for detail and then assembled the cut file. For more room, I actually cut this file twice and just adhered them together end to end. Since this file makes an accordion album, you can't even tell it was two separate pieces and I love how chunky it makes the album look when finished!
To embellish this album, I used a mixture of physical and pieces from the Truly Grateful Digital Collection. I used the Print and Cut feature on my Cricut to create some smaller die cuts from the digital collection. I layered these up with some of the physical products like the Thickers and the Wooden Buttons for texture and dimension.
Once all of the photos and embellishments were added, I printed journaling and cut it into strips. I then glued these strips into the empty spaces throughout the album. This is a technique that I’ve picked up from Paige and I love how it adds to the overall handmade look of the album.
The final touches to add were, of course, some charms and tassels! I created fringe tassels that I embellished with hand-painted beads and charms from my stash. I slipped these onto a paper clip and added that to the cover. I used rolled flowers I created using Paige’s Rolled Flowers cut file to hold this paper clip in place by just gluing them down on top of it. This added more flair to the cover while preventing the clip from sliding off.
Documenting fall memories is one of my favorite things to do this time of year, so thank you for stopping by to read about my project today! I’ll see you next time with another fun project, take care and happy crafting!

  2. Opulent is what comes to mind looking through your fabulous mini. The layers go on and on, it's just gorgeous Amber. I like the idea of putting the tassels on the paperclip and holding that in place with roses. BTW, you photograph your projects so beautifully too! You inspire me. xK
