Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here back on Paige's blog with my first layout using the beautiful Happy Haven collection. This layout is also the first time I've documented a large photo and created a shaker element within it.
In Cricut Design Space I wrote out the word "Smile" then sized and positioned it to cut from the area of the photo that wouldn't intrude on the main focus. Next I backed the cut area with acetate then added a border of adhesive foam around and poured sequins and mini flowers onto it. I backed those elements with a piece of vellum to secure all the bits of the shaker. I matted the photo with a piece of blue cardstock from the Project Pad along with another piece of vellum. For my main background I originally wanted to use the floral Paper 1, but once I saw the similar yet more whimsical version from the Project Pad (which features the addition of butterflies & bees) I knew it would be the perfect backdrop! I added tufts of blue Distress Oxides to three areas of the page and adhered the photo to the inked paper. I embellished the inked areas with Floral Die Cuts and stickers from the Project Pad then finished the title with a word from the Cardstock Stickers. For a final touch, I tucked pink lace in the three areas of embellishment for added texture and whimsy! I hope you found some inspiration in this layout and choose to try scrapping a large photo with Paige's Happy Haven collection and maybe even creating a shaker element!
