Crafty Friends Layout by Paige Evans

Sunday, August 28, 2022

I created a layout for the Subscriber Day event for Scrapbook & Cards TodayAre you a magazine subscriber, an SCT Sampler, or Let’s Stamp Together subscriber? Then you have access to this free Crafty Friends are the Best Friends Cut File and the process video for this page!

I cut the Crafty Friends are the Best Friends Cut File from white cardstock and then backed the letters with photos and Splendid patterned papers. Can you spy some crafty friends? Hi Andrea, Nicole, Catherine, Meghann, Kelly, Vicki, Shimelle, Steffi, Jessica, Rosie, Karen, Danielle, Isa, and Valorie! I adhered the cut file with foam squares onto a purple paper from the Splendid Project Pad. Since the background is already colorful and busy, I kept the embellishing to a minimum. I added tiny flowers from the Floral Die Cuts (I always love to shape flower die cuts by pinching the petals!), hearts from the Sequins & Enamel Shapes pack, a few small sentiments from the Epoxy Stickers, and tiny transparency flowers from the 8-Page Sticker Book. To finish I wrote journaling with a white pen across the bottom.

I hope this inspires you to check out Scrapbook & Cards Today and sign up for a subscription as well as get your hands on my Splendid collection!

Flower Wreath Layout by Lisa Fonseca

Saturday, August 27, 2022

Hi crafty friends! Lisa Fonseca here today sharing a new layout using Paige's cut files as well as her Splendid collection!

For this project I used Rolled Flower Cut Files and a Branch Cut File. I cut lots of Branches out from white paper and the Rolled Flowers from pink, orange, and yellow patterned paper. I cut out some flower clusters from Paper 1, placed them on my paper, then added the three rolled flowers on top along with the white leaf branches. I adhered everything and added watercolors behind the florals. I added my matted photo, the title using Epoxy Stickers and mini foam Thickers, a floral Cardstock Sticker, and a cute little bird from the Ephemera Die Cuts!

I hope you like this layout! Thanks for stopping by!

Smile Layout by Kelly Daye

Friday, August 26, 2022

Hi friends! Kelly Daye here with a new layout using Paige's cut files and Splendid collection! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve made a wreath layout and I really had the itch. I always love combining lots of patterns and color into a layout and any one of Paige’s wreath cut files work so great for it.

I’ve used Paige's Lace Doily Cut File to create a pretty background beneath the wreath. I have a Cameo tutorial to show you how. I cut it out of white cardstock and chain stitched a border with 6 strands of  white DMC Floss. Once stitched, I popped it up with foam tape over Splendid Paper 1.

Paige’s Circles Doily Cut File became my wreath. All the papers are from Splendid and I chose colors to look like a color wheel with each color repeated three times in the wreath. Odd numbers tend to look better in a design. Once paper-backed, I chain stitched each section with coordinating colors of DMC floss then popped the wreath up over my background with more foam tape. Layering all-the-pretty things from the collection, including ButtonsEpoxy StickersEnamel ShapesHeart Paper Clips, and the Floral Die Cuts gives this layout lots of texture and dimension. Finally, I added gold thread into the floral clusters, some sequins for sparkle, and dabs of gold Stickles and gold acrylic paint.

You can see it all come together in my Smile Layout Process Video on YouTube today!

Frame Layout by Jennifer Rambert

Thursday, August 25, 2022

Hello creative friends! Jennifer Rambert here today and I'm happy to share this layout using Paige's Splendid collection and Frame Cut File. I wanted to use this frame with a family photo and chose this funny one!

I started by cutting the Frame Cut File from Paper 6 from the Wonders collection because I wanted a dark frame. I glued the frame onto watercolor paper. I sanded a few places in the frame for a worn effect and stamped a text pattern here and there with gesso. Inside the frame, I added blue ink and added a geometric pattern with a stamp and gesso. I just have to decorate everything. I made two clusters of embellishments. For the bottom one, I added my photo that I layered with different Ephemera Die Cuts. You will also find Floral Die CutsChipboard Stickers, and Epoxy Stickers. For the top one, there are mainly Floral Die CutsCardstock Stickers, and Chipboard Stickers. Then I added the title to the center of the frame made with a "Love" Epoxy Sticker on label stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book then surrounded by mini foam Thickers. I finished it all by adding butterflies, golden beads, and gesso to harmonize everything.

I hope this layout has inspired you in some way today! I just love this Frame Cut File! I wish you a beautiful and creative day!

Vacation Memories Layout by Jackie Ashton

Wednesday, August 24, 2022

Hi friends! Jackie Ashton here with my next project using Paige's Vacation Memories Cut File and Splendid collection!

I cut the Vacation Memories Cut File from white cardstock and backed it using vellum then added it to a green paper from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I chose the large tag cut apart Paper 22 to use as layers behind my photographs. I embellished my page with bits and pieces from the Ephemera Die Cuts8-Page Sticker Book, and Chipboard Stickers.

I love how this layout came together to document stopping at a lovely little chapel on the hill whilst on holiday in Malta.

Baseball Layout by Audrey Mutschall

Tuesday, August 23, 2022

Hi everyone! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Paige's cut files, specifically her Baseball Cut File. I was so excited when I saw this cut file that I couldn’t wait to make a layout with it.  My son recently became the batboy for our local baseball team, the Lethbridge Bulls, and he’s made so many happy memories with his teammates this summer. Paige’s Baseball Cut File was absolutely perfect for documenting a few of these precious moments.

I started by cutting out the Baseball Cut File from white cardstock. I backed the word “baseball” using red striped paper from the Truly Grateful collection, and blue and yellow patterned papers from the  Pick-Me-Up collection. The baseball is backed using yellow patterned paper from the Oh My Heart digital collection, which I faded a bit using white gesso. I used scraps from my stash for both the baseball glove and bat. I arranged all of the pieces onto a woodgrain patterned paper, added my photos and white acrylic paint splatters, and then got to work embellishing. I’ve used a puffy sticker from Go the Scenic Route, a cardstock sticker from Wonders, and some printed digital elements from the Turn the Page collection.

I hope this inspires you to use this adorable Baseball Cut File for the baseball slugger in your life!

Vegas August 2022

In August 2022 I flew to Vegas to visit my sister and her new baby Zula! Every time I get to hang out with Allie, I love it. She's awesome.

Bye bye beautiful Denver!
Hello Vegas! Unlike the Denver airport which is nowhere near Denver, the Las Vegas airport is a stone's throw from The Strip, it's awesome and so handy! And just makes sense lol.
Very first thing we did was drop my niece Daisy off at Kindergarten. She's so cute and spunky.
Next: Donuts and specialty drinks from Fiiz.
Next order of immediate business: snuggle Zula!
Hug the cat Mickey.
More snuggles with Zula. After working from dawn to dusk every day for weeks, it was sooooo nice to just RELAX with absolutely nothing to do.
It was hot, so Tate and the kids took a dip in their pool.
Allie was fulfilling Woven Girl orders and I stuck my feet in.
A few years ago the Litchfields got a pair of desert tortoises and every time we've visited since they've been hibernating. Not this time! I finally got to meet Dusty and Rocky and see their antics! So fun and funny!
Between dinner and bedtime we went to the gas station to get frozen treats.
Once Daisy and Jude went to sleep I nabbed Zula to myself and we watched episodes of Outlander.
The next morning Daisy came in to be with me bright and early :)
We went to JoAnn to get more fabric for Allie and I showed Daisy my stuff :)
Starting her young with the joy of scrapping!!
During quiet/nap time for Daisy & Jude we watched more Outlander and I snuggled more with Zula. The best.
I thought I was hard working but Allie puts me to shame! Not even when the baby is sleeping does she sleep as the old adage goes. Nope. Here she is working on custom Woven Girls and a new fall batch. She really is amazing!!
When I visited Allie back in February (we were supposed to go to a Justin Bieber concert but it was canceled the night before...) we went to a restaurant called Bottiglia's and it was sooo good that I've been dreaming about it ever since! Definitely had to go again! So we made reservations, got a babysitter for Daisy & Jude, and made our way back to Bottiglia's. It was just as good as I remember!
I don't know what it is about Vegas but it makes me want to shop! So the next afternoon Allie, Zula and I went down to The Strip.
Johnny Was (my favorite) and Psycho Bunny (Chris' favorite) next door to each other! Presh!
These rainbow steps were calling my name!
Me and my sis!
Fountains at the Wynn.
Inside the shops.
Cartier.
Back at the house we enjoyed more snuggles during Jude's nap.
Tate's yummy home cooked dinner.
Daisy making snacks (if only I could get Fox and Jane to be so independent lol) and icee's.
Last morning of snuggles before heading back to Colorado!
I always always always love my time with Allie and her cute family and hanging out in Las Vegas! Can't wait to go back again!
