Grateful Layout by Jana Maiwald-McCarthy

Friday, February 1, 2019

Hi everyone, Jana Maiwald-McCarthy back again and I have a new layout to share with you! For this page I used Paige's Layered Flower cut file and her Whimsical collection, mixed with some papers from the Pick-Me-Up collection.
I cut the Layered Flower from different patterned papers (Whimsical Paper 03 and Paper 17 & Pick-Me-Up Paper 09Paper 17, and Paper 23) with my Silhouette Cameo. I used hot glue as my adhesive for all the layers, just because I love how it gives dimension and it is quick and easy, too! I decided to work on a black cardstock background but I wanted to have some white accents on it so I used a striped stencil and white acrylic paint, then because I love how white was working on black I added tons of white splatters!
I placed my picture on the right side of the page and placed the layered flowers around it. I also did some fussy cutting from Whimsical Paper 03 (from the 12x12 Paper Pad with Foil Accents) for some white/gold leaves and from Pick-Me-Up Paper 02 for matching little flower clusters. I simply stuck the leaves between all of the flowers with adhesive foam and/or hot glue. I wanted to have even more leaves so I used the leaves from the Floral Die Cuts which I placed around the big flower cluster.
I grabbed three sentiment Chipboard Stickers from Pick-Me-Up - they totally matched my theme and colors and I placed them between the flowers and on top of the photo. I used a Tassel Paper Clip on my picture and also some more flower stickers from the Sticker Book. The golden scalloped sticker behind my photo is from the Stickers and I really love how it looks there. I used the Foam Mini Thickers for the year underneath the flowers and the last thing I added was even more white acrylic paint splatters. I had a lot of fun with this project and it's my “happy to be me” reminder for this year!
Be sure to check out Paige's cut files for ideas and inspiration. I always get ideas and I always find a perfect cut file for my next project! Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you all a great day!
