Assisi, Italy Mini Album

First mini album using Bloom Street is in the books :) This time I documented our day in Assisi, Italy!
Here is a flip through with me talking about this album:

I started with the Seed Packets Paper 11 which has twelve 3x4" sections ready to be cut into individual cards and embellished - easy peasy! Love these kinds of papers which translate perfectly into mini albums. Once I cut apart the paper I backed each card with a 3x4" photo. Usually I print my photos at home but when I need lots of photos I print them at Costco. Then I machine stitched a basic running stitch with coordinating colored thread around the edges. Love the texture and homespun vibe this adds.

I punched a hole at the top of each card and made a bunch of punched hole reinforcers from the colorful B-side of Paper 24 - lots of options for colors on this paper! I glued the reinforcers to both sides of the punched hole on each card and had 12 cards ready to be embellished!

At this point is when I brought this mini album with me to work on at Creativation between chats and got about 3/4 of the way through! All together I would say this mini took about 4 hours to make. On the cover I cut a banner shape from a scrap piece of paper to cover the "wildflowers" printed on the card and popped it up with foam squares. I used the Puffy Word Stickers to create the title - I recommend having two (at least!) packages of these Puffy Word Stickers - one for using as is with the words as they come and another for using as an alphabet like I did here. From the 4-Page Sticker Book I used the mini alphabet stickers to create "italy" below and added bling to the flower centers with jewels from the Mixed Embellishments.

Each page is decorated pretty minimally to allow the photos and prints on the cards to shine! On the first spread, top photo, I added a "lovely" title from the Puffy Word Stickers, a "capture beauty" sentiment from the 4-Page Sticker Book, and a little snippet of a heart border sticker also from the 4-Page Sticker Book. On the bottom card I popped up a heart sticker from the 4-Page Sticker Book with a foam square and used glue dots to attach three leaf sequins from the Mixed Embellishments. The journaling was the very last step for this mini album - I copied and pasted our blog post recap from Assisi into a new document, changed the font to Remington Noiseless size 8, printed it out, cut it into strips, and glued them in place.

2nd spread: I used the Floral Foam Thickers to spell "GIRL" and used the mini alphas to add "my" above it. A few more stickers adorn the white space of the photo. On the bottom I attached three sequins from the Mixed Embellishments and a flower Cardstock Sticker. Journaling strips were adhered last.

3rd spread: On the photo I added a Layered Butterfly Sticker, sentiment stickers, and journaling. On the bottom card I trimmed off a scalloped edge from a journaling spot in the Ephemera Die Cuts and added a sentiment sticker from the 4-Page Sticker Book on top.

4th spread: I layered a group of pansies, blue berries bunch, and a leaf sprig, all from the Floral Die Cuts, to the top left side of the photo and trimmed the excess. On top of the layers I added a "Spring" sticker from the Cardstock Stickers. Below I layered a strip of Washi Tape and more stickers from the Cardstock Stickers and 4-Page Sticker Book. The stickers on those two products range in size from medium to itty bitty and I love adding all the teeny tiny pieces to mini albums :)

5th spread: Top photo has border sticker strips, typed journaling, a flower, "love" puffy stickers, and a butterfly sticker. The bottom page is actually an extra page. I always have more photos that I want to include than space seems to allow, so I printed a few two 2x3" photos in a 3x4" size, adhered them back-to-back, stitched around the edges, and added hole reinforcers like every other page.

6th spread: Between the 2x3" photos I placed a sentiment sticker and on the bottom card I added a plethora of tiny stickers from the 4-Page Sticker Book and Cardstock Stickers.

7th spread: A couple floral stickers adorn the top right corner of the top photo and on the bottom card all I did was pop up three strawberry stickers on top of the printed strawberries.

8th spread: I cut a flower sticker on half to edge the photo and placed a sentiment sticker and journaling at the top. On the bottom I layered a leaf die cut over the leaves and fussy cut a sentiment from one of the 2x2 Paper Pads to go above the "oregano seeds" printed on the card.

9th spread: I love how the background of the "live life in full bloom" sticker matched the sky and I flanked it with a border sticker and a puffy white heart sticker. At the bottom I mirrored the shiny sentiment on top with a shiny "love" sticker, purple flower bouquet sticker, and a bunch of journaling strips to help tell the story.

10th spread: I didn't want to cover up hardly any of the flowers in this picture so I added just three tiny things: a heart enamel sticker from the Enamel Dots, "flowers" sticker from the 4-Page Sticker Book, and journaling strip. The bottom photo is another insert with captions and a bee sticker between the pics.

11th spread: A floral ampersand Cardstock Sticker adorns the left side along with a caption and the bottom has a floral bouquet sticker popped up with foam squares - super minimal!

12th spread: I'll never forget when we paid 8 euros per plate for microwaved pasta from a box, in Italy lol. What the what?! Hahaha. Anyway, aside from being scarred for life (I kid, I kid) the top picture has a few embellishments in the white space and the bottom card has only "yes" Puffy Word Stickers.

13th spread: I always like to include a family photo so I saved the one from Assisi for the last page here and decorated the top with a single flower sticker cut apart and trimmed. On the bottom I fussy cut the same pansies and added them back on top with foam squares along with a "sunshine & happiness" Ephemera Die Cut.

I created a custom charm using the Tassels and a few Flower Charms slid onto a pink binder ring for extra fun to finish off the album and make it whimsical & eclectic. I hope this mini album inspires you to document your memories with my new Bloom Street collection!

  3. What a sweet little gem. I'm so in love with all the soft colours in Bloom Street and just bought a mass of new DMC Floss in pastels to get ready for all the fun. Assisi is beautiful too, it's so green everywhere. The building in spread 10 is beautiful. They didn't have anywhere to plant a climbing shrub and it didn't matter :D The pom-poms have been on my radar since the very moment I saw them. So many inspiring details Paige <3 K
