Zoo Hobonichi Spread by Paula Fiihr

Hello friends! Paula Fiihr here today with a memory keeping layout in my hobonichi using Go the Scenic Route. Full of great color and pieces - it’s fast becoming my favorite! I wanted to document a recent trip to the zoo to see the dragon exhibit.
To get started, I chose the Flower Borders cut file and cut it from Paper 13. The stitched squares from Paper 10 are so adorable and I wanted to use them for this layout. I cut two to become a pocket and one to use with the title. The words for my title are from Puffy Phrase Thickers. I picked four of my favorite pics from our trip and laid three out on the spread and added the 4th to the back of a journaling card from the Ephemera Die Cuts.
Under the title square I added a ticket Ephemera Die Cut and a circle cut from the animal print Washi Tape. Under the pics peeled Chipboard Stickers - this adds color without adding bulk to my hobonichi. The Flower Borders were then cut into smaller pieces and added throughout. Inside the pocket is a journaling card cut from Paper 1 and a tag Ephemera Die Cut. I sewed scrap ribbon on top of the tag along with a sticker from Puffy Phrase Thickers and used a bit of the animal print Washi Tape on top of the card. Then I decorated it with words and hearts from the Cardstock Stickers and Enamel Dots.
Just for fun I made a couple clips to complete my layout. The flower and butterfly charms are shrinky dinks traced and colored with acrylic paint markers from the Cardstock Stickers. I punched a one inch circle from the washi and added it to a flattened bottle cap charm and used a flower Charm. I made blue tassels to match using embroidery floss. It all looks so cute together on paper clips!
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!
