Hi scrappy friends! Monique Lowe here and I’m bubbling over with excitement to share my latest Halloween layout, brewed with love using Paige’s Tricks & Treats collection. This page documents a frightfully fun potion-making party, complemented by lots of fun potion motifs.
Paper 9 was my starting point - I trimmed it along the checkered pattern to create step-like shelves across the bottom half of my layout. These would later become the perfect perch for potion bottles from the Ephemera Die Cuts. Next I fussy cut a portion of Paper 4 to form a bold border for the top half of my layout. On a piece of mixed media cardstock, I stenciled stars using clear gloss gesso. Once dry, I added a wash of purple watercolor and splatters, concentrating the color where Paper 4 would meet the background. With the background dry, I glued Paper 4 in place at the top and machine stitched down Paper 9 at the bottom, following the checkered lines. I backed my two photos with Paper 3 and a torn strip of Paper 12, then layered a title die cut piece over one photo to create a shelf effect and anchor the photos. Using fussy-cut potion bottles from Paper 5, plus die cuts and foam stickers, I filled the step-like shelves with bubbling brews and spooky bottles, tying them together with my photos. To finish, I added a pair of puffy sticker moths fluttering near the top of my page and a foam scalloped edging beneath the title for a final flourish. Thanks so much for stopping by!
