I have a new layout with a process video created for Scrapbook & Cards Today featuring Lovely Lane and paper scraps!
Watch the process video here:
I started by choosing a background cardstock color - there are sooooo many gorgeous purples in the new bundle of 160 colors from the 12x12 Cardstock Shop! I chose a deep purple called Concord Grape to make all the colors and patterns POP! Then I die cut my Heart Cut File (download it for FREE on THIS SCT blog post) from scratch smooth white cardstock and traced it with a pencil in the middle of the cardstock background.
Next I grabbed my baggies of paper scraps and trimmed a bunch of 3/8" strips to fill up the heart. I figured out the placement of the strips, trimmed them to the right size, and then glued them in place starting with the center strip and then moving from the right to the middle and then the left to the middle. I ended up overlapping the strips slightly to be able to include LOTS of paper strips - the more the merrier!
After filling up the heart, I added two 3x4" photos that I printed in black & white since the colors didn't quite match the papers but I wanted to feel all the feels of love (it is February afterall!). I embellished with (5) Hearts Die Cuts, two Floral Die Cuts, two tiny sentiments from the Chipboard Stickers, and a sprinkling of heart-shaped Enamel Dots. Lots and lots of hearts! I curved the title along the bottom right side of the heart using white Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers and then machine stitched over it as well as down the heart die cuts. I added foam squares under the heart edges to keep them dimensional. I wrote journaling under the title with a white pen.
I love this layout all about love! Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out the process video, the SCT blog post for the free heart cut file, and pick up my Lovely Lane collection from Pinkfresh Studio!
