The One with the Disneyland Quickie

Friday, December 4, 2009

This morning we took a quick trip to Disneyland since we haven't been in so long.

We arrived just just before the park opened at 8am and we got to see the place decked out in holiday decor. See - the CALIFORNIA sign is temporarily peppermint candy striped. Cute.

It was super foggy this morning - what is this, San Francisco? :)

We didn't think it'd be too crowded at 8am on a Friday morning a couple weeks before Christmas. And we were right. This picture is the line outside the gate because the park wasn't opened yet, but once we got in everyone dispersed. We found a great parking spot and the longest we waited in line was 5 minutes. That's the way (uh huh uh huh) we like it (uh huh uh huh)! Over at Mulholland Madness we got on the mini roller coaster immediately, then back at the start the cast member asked, "Do you want to go again?" "Heck yes! Again again again!"

Chris. You make funny faces. And that's why I love you.

We got to ride It's a Small World for the very first time since we've lived here. It was all Christmas-y and awesome inside.

I joked with Chris that we should take off one light from each strand...he persuaded me not to. Aw shucks.
Photobucket
I hope we can go back soon and see all the lights at night. I'm sure it's spectacular.

I so wanted to get a better close-up picture of Jack Skellington and Sally, but this will have to do. They looked like they came straight out of the movie.
Photobucket
This is perhaps the cutest picture I've ever seen/taken. This little boy sitting on Santa's lap, his hands quizzically pressed against his mouth as Santa genuinely asks him the most important question of the year: What do you want for Christmas?
Photobucket
We arrived at 8, rode every single ride we wanted to, left at 11, dropped Chris off at school then I came home, took the doggie out for a walk, then went to work. That's my kind of Friday!

PS - check out the Simply Handmade blog to see the full tutorial of how to make a paper flower.

Also how totally cool that you went to Disney! I grew up in FL and went to Disney all the time. We live 2 hours from there door to door, I kid you not! :) And in all that time, I've never been during the holiday's! I am sure it was beautiful!!! Glad that you had fun, it's a really neat place! We are going in March and I am totally stoked!
