The One with Fox at 2 Years

Our baby boy is definitely not a baby anymore! He's a full-blown toddler!
Although it seems like only yesterday that I was holding him in my arms after giving birth.

The last time I did one of these "Fox at such-n-such age" was when he was 18 months old. We measured him at home and apparently he's the same height, weighs just one pound more, and his head is the same size as six months ago. Hmmmm. We'll see if that's really correct at his 2 year doctor appointment next month. Until then, here are his stats:

Length: 35" (50-75%)
Weight: 26.2 pounds (10-25%)
Head circumference: 19.5" (75%)

So what's Fox up to at 2 years old? Lemme tell you!

One minute he's a happy-go-lucky guy and the next he's a crying, screaming mess. He's the epitome of the "terrible twos" but you know what? I love him all the same :)

Fox can say over 100 words and his vocabulary is growing every day - he's even starting to say small sentences like "Here you go!" and "I need more!" Sometimes he starts talking at me and I have no idea what he's saying. He has his own little language. It's so cute.

Fox's favorite movies are Toy Story (specifically number 2 with the Buzz Lightyear intro), Dumbo, Land Before Time, and Lady and the Tramp. Recently he started watching Nightmare Before Christmas and makes me play the opening song over and over and over. He's also really into pirates all of a sudden and watched a video on YouTube of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride over and over and over for like an hour today. I finally had to say no more cuz it was driving me batty!

Whatever we're doing, he wants to do. Whether it's vacuuming, coloring, scrapbooking, unloading the dishwasher, sweeping, exercising, hugging; he wants in on the action. He loves trying on our shoes and walking around like he's grown up. He's definitely watching our every move so we better be good examples for him!

He makes a mess of the house in .0000001 seconds flat. I don't even know how he does it! I just let him have at it all day then once he goes to bed I clean it up. Granted a lot of the mess in this photo is my scrapbooking stuff...

He's got two bottom molars coming in right now which leaves two upper molars. Sorry if that's not the right jargon Chris :)

99.9% of the time he has something in one, if not both, of his hands. Usually it's some sort of figurine - like a dinosaur or a farm animal of sorts - or a car.
Photobucket
Jane already looks up to him and stares at him as much as she possibly can. Fox doesn't really want to have anything to do with her these days, which is sad, but at least he's not mean to her so I'm sure in time it'll get better and they'll be the best of friends. This was taken before he decided he doesn't like to hold her anymore:

Has a creepy voice when he says "dinosaur - rawr". Check it out:
A day in the life of Fox:
5:30-6am - wake up. Mommy and Daddy would really love if you'd sleep in 'til 7!
7am - breakfast of cereal, egg, raspberries
7:30am - play with toys
8am - go on a walk with Joey the dog
9am-12pm - (MWF) go over to the Millers so Mommy can get work done or (TTh) play, go outside, run errands, etc.
12pm - lunch of hot dog, string cheese, broccoli
1pm-3pm - nap time!
3:30pm - snack of pretzels or chips and watch a movie
5pm - dinner of whatever we're eating
5:30 - play with toys, read, color
7pm - bath time
7:30pm - bed time!

Fox is still sleeping in a crib and hasn't tried climbing out yet which I'm thankful for. As long as he's sleeping well and taking naps I'm all about letting him sleep in a crib!

Fox is officially off the pacifier. I did a post a couple months ago about him being done with it, but then he got hand/foot/mouth disease so we gave it back to him, and then about three weeks ago we took it away and he hasn't had it since! Hallelujah!

I know I've already posted this video, but it's my favorite. Fox grooving to "Pumped Up Kicks":

I'm sure there's a lot that I'm missing or forgetting, but hopefully blogging frequently, instagramming, and scrapbooking, records significant milestones and fun events.

I've said it before and I'll say it many many many more times - we love you Fox!
