Happy Easter Layout by Kim Jeffress

Welcome back to the blog! Kim Jeffress here and I love telling the stories of my family but also personal stories as well. Being a teacher and a crafter the two seem to meld together. Each year the local shopping mall has an Easter treasure hunt where local schools decorate a large wooden Easter shape - it is placed around the mall and people who visit need to find all the Easter shapes and then vote for their favorite. My teacher aides and I worked for several weeks on our school's Easter Bunny and we loved how it turned out. I remembered Paige had the cute Easter Bunny Head cut file and I knew it was the perfect complement to my photo and way to help tell the story.
I wanted to make it a statement on my layout so I cut it using a Silhouette Cameo and white cardstock at 10 inches high. I then created my base. I took Paper 08 from the new Horizon collection and then trimmed it to fit onto a piece of white American Crafts cardstock. I then stitched around the edge with gold thread. I added pop dots to the back of the Easter Bunny Head cut file and added another layer of white cardstock underneath the bunny head so it would not get lost amongst the busy patterned paper. I placed my photo at an angle, tucking it under the side of the cut file to create a cohesive feel.

I used lots of the Floral Die Cuts and Charms on the bunny’s sweet banners hanging off its ears. I just added foam tape to the bottom of the flowers and charms and adhered them to the shapes (flowers and butterflies) that were hanging off the banner parts. I added my journaling strips and a couple more Floral Die Cuts and Stickers in and around my photo to complete my layout. Using a cut file really allows us to tell a story quickly and easily!

I love being able to store my own stories forever. Making them pretty with paper, cut files, and glue is just a bonus!
