Just a Little Batty Layout by by Elsie Robinson

Hey everyone, it’s Elsie Robinson here! Since Halloween is right around the corner, I thought I would spook things up a bit and create a Halloween-themed layout with some of the many amazing Halloween cut files Paige has to offer!
Although the Truly Grateful collection is not a Halloween-themed collection, the cut files I used really helped transform this layout and collection into something spook-tacular! I first started by cutting the Spider Web Background cut file from white cardstock. I enlarged the cut file in Silhouette software so the centre of the web would be in the top right of my 12x12 layout. Rather than adhering the cut file straight onto my background (Paper 10), I placed some small foam squares across the back of the cut file which raised it up from the background. This extra dimension gives the background loads more interest and makes it a focal point of the page.

For some extra embellishments I ungrouped the Bat Background cut file and cut a few bats in different sizes from black cardstock. And since I had a spiderweb background I of course had to include a little spider from the Spiderweb and Spider cut file. For some extra whimsy I made it look like the spider was coming out of the bitten apple Journaling Spot.

To embellish, I clustered several of the Floral Die Cuts around my photo and in the bottom left corner of the page to help draw the eye to my photo and journaling. I also used the mini foam alphas from the Whimsical collection to spell out my title: ‘just a little batty’, since one of my pup’s nicknames is Batty Betty and in the photo she’s wearing a bat Halloween bandana.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you’re inspired to also create a Halloween page with some of Paige’s spook-tacular cut files!
