Disney World December 2025

Tuesday, December 23, 2025

For the first time we went to Disney World at Christmas time! For my 40th birthday earlier in the year I asked me parents to join me. The plan was for both of them to come, but my dad had to stay home to take care of their 15-year old dog Gypsy so just my mom came. We had an absolute blast!
Well, except for the travel day. Friday December 19th was a very windy day in Colorado and it caused all kinds of cancellations and disruptions at the airport. Our direct flight from Denver to Orlando was only delayed about 45 minutes but because of amazing tailwind we still arrived on time. My mom's flight from Spokane to Denver was diverted to Colorado Springs and she sat there for about 4 hours before getting to Denver and then had to wait about 4 more hours for the flight from Denver to Orlando. Originally she was supposed to land around 4pm but ended up getting there at 1am... BUT! SHE MADE IT! WE ALL MADE IT!

Fox & Jane at the Orlando airport. So festive!

We ubered to the Grand Floridian Hotel. Ever since watching Full House when I was like 8 years old I've wanted to stay at the GF. This was a dream come true!!

Christmas decorations everywhere.

The beautiful lobby.
Pretty poinsettias.

We made it!
This tree is ginormous.
Our family at the Grand Floridian on Friday December 19th 2025.

Our room wasn't quite ready and we flew right over lunch so we were on the prowl for food. We found a little restaurant and got a variety of lunches as well as our first of many desserts. And this is why I gained 8 pounds over 2 months with 2 Disney trips...

After dropping our things off in the room we walked over to the Polynesian to get more desserts.

Mmmmmm.

View of the GF from the Polynesian.

Stopping for pics on the walk back to our room.

We had perfect weather the entire time - sunny, not too hot, not too cold, and hardly any humidity. We lucked out.

Family selfie!

View from our balcony.

Beautiful sunset.

So funny, the decor and style of the GF is very similar to our own home. In fact, we literally had two of the exact same light fixtures in our bathroom!

Our hotel lobby.
Gingerbread in our hotel building.

After just a few hours of sleep, we were off to the races! HERE WE GO!!! We got breakfast at the same place we had lunch and then ubered to Epcot.

First Chris took some pics of us in front of the Epcot ball but then we found one of the Disney photographers to capture us all.
So happy!

The very first ride we went on was Finding Nemo.

Always a good time.

We went on our honeymoon to Disney World way back in 2007. Still so in love and still love going to Disney World!

The Living With the Land ride was decked out for Christmas.

Would have been fun to see all the lights at night time but oh well!

We meandered through the Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.

Malm's genuine reaction to trying the Beverly drink. It is quite nasty lol.

Our first adrenaline inducing ride: Test Track!

Malm looks like Samara from The Ring lol.

We had a lunch reservation at San Angel Inn inside Mexico.

But first we went on the boat ride!

Last time we ate here Fox got a stomach ache in the middle of our meal so we had to bail early.

This time we made it through.

The food was so good, especially the mocktail.

Walking over to Norway.

We hopped on the Frozen ride.

We got more desserts in Germany - this was one of my top 3 favorite treats.

We miss living in Germany!

Walking past Italy.

Onto Japan!

LOL.

We went on Ratatouille, got more desserts in France, and then headed back to the hotel.
After naps we decided to walk on the path to the Magic Kingdom.

We were surprised to find this hawk just chilling on one of the lamp posts.

The sunset was so very pretty.

Love all the lights and decorations on Main Street.

It got quite crowded at night but was actually pretty sparse during the day. We didn't go on any rides, the lines we too long, we just walked around and got some treats.
The silly water show from our balcony lol.
Day 2 we woke up and headed to the Magic Kingdom!
Hooray!

I can't pick a favorite so I'm just adding them all cuz why not.

Hi Walt & Mickey.

We bopped around all the kiddie rides.

A personal favorite, the Haunted Mansion.
Eeek, scary! :)

Another day, another dessert.

Enchanted Tiki Room.
Pirates!

"Jingle" Cruise, hehe!

Have I mentioned how awesome my mom is? She LOVED every single ride, went on every roller coaster, and genuinely had a total blast.

Cute Christmas tree.

We had lunch at the Liberty Square Tavern - Chris's Thanksgiving food is much better lol, BUT, this dessert was also in my top 3 favorites.

Blooming hibiscus.

Next up: TRON.
Then Space Mountain.

We finished up the day with Tiana's Bayou Adventure just in case we got soaked so we could just go straight to the hotel. We didn't get doused too bad though thankfully.

For dinner, as per tradition every time we go to Disney World, we went to the Caribbean Beach Resort.

We took the Skyliner over to Epcot to get more desserts at France.

We got a good night's sleep then woke up refreshed and ready for our 3rd and final park day!

We ubered over to Animal Kingdom and got breakfast in Pandora.
Jane was in heaven. She is absolutely obsessed with all things Avatar.

We went on Na'vi River Journey and then Avatar Flight of Passage.

Over in Africa we went on the Kilimanjaro Safari and I loved seeing these happy hippos.

Flingamingoes! That's what Jane used to call pink flamingoes.
Everest was finally the ride where my mom lost her luster lolol. She said it was 10 seconds too long. However, she still out-rode me because everyone but me went on Kali River Rapids.

Stopping for pics in front of the Tree of Life.

That evening for dinner we walked over to the Polynesian and I got a coconut rice dish that was super duper yummy. We came back to the hotel and watched Monday Night Football before falling asleep. The next morning we were on the same on-time flight back to Denver and then my mom got back to Spokane without a hitch! Much better!! We were all home just in time for our Christmas Adam traditions.
We always love going to the Disney parks and can't wait for our next trip I think in April!
