Wonderful Layout for Paige's Pages 18

Wednesday, June 5, 2019

Here is my last layout for Paige's Pages 18 at Big Picture Classes featuring peek-a-boo Floral Die Cuts from my Horizon collection and a large title cut file!
I’ve included the free cut file at the end of Lesson 4 so be sure to grab it there. Your Silhouette Cameo 3 will cut the large title and then create the stitching holes. Alternatively, I’ve included a PDF also at the end of the lesson at BPC which you can print and piece together to create the almost 12” title and then you can choose to pierce stitching holes or skip that step.

Once I had the die cut background, I spent about 8 hours hand stitching the chain link around every letter. Yes, I'm cray cray, but to me it’s so worth it for the texture it adds! I always use all 6 strands of white DMC embroidery floss to get the maximum texture.

To create a “peek-a-boo” effect, I used an entire package of Floral Die Cuts and tucked them into the left side of each letter, and only the left side. If parts of a flower snuck into the right side of a letter, I trimmed the excess.

Once the stitching was finished it only took about 10 minutes to finish up this layout. Photo, flowers, journaling, done!

Find the start-to-finish process video and more tips & tricks over in Lesson 4 of Paige's Pages 18 at Big Picture Classes!

  2. LOL, "cray, cray" but oh-so-creative :) It's positively stunning Paige, I'd never want to tuck it away. Your little Jane has the happiest smile. Does she get as excited about your projects as we do ? We had a young girl and her mom in our store the other night. She was so excited to pick out her own things and carry out her own bag. It was really fun to see. I hope this industry just keeps growing an growing <3
