Hot Air Balloons Layout by Audrey Mutschall

Hello friends! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Happy Haven and lots of hot air balloons!
I wanted to use a variety of pretty patterns together on one page and came across the idea to make hot air balloons using a simple heart shape. The papers I chose for the hearts were Paper 4 (both sides), Paper 5 (both sides), Paper 6, and Paper 8. I cut five hearts from each patterned paper, scored them down the middle, folded them in half, and then glued the back half of one heart to the back half of another heart, creating a dimensional hot air balloon. I varied the size of the hearts for each patterned paper so that I’d end up with different sizes of hot air balloons. I chose a piece of blue cardstock for my background and added a curvy piece of Paper 9 at the bottom to create a hill. I hand-stitched along the hill with variegated embroidery floss to add a little extra color and texture. I matted my photo with a piece of plaid paper from the 12x12 Project Pad and adhered it at the bottom of the page. I arranged the hot air balloons around the page, added little baskets and strings made from embroidery floss, and then filled in some of the space with puffy white cardstock clouds and sequins. Lastly, I embellished with Floral Die Cuts, Cardstock Stickers, and Journaling Die Cuts.
