September 2025 Highlights

Wednesday, October 1, 2025

Here's what we were up to throughout September 2025!
Got the front porch fall-i-fied.
We've commissioned our brother-in-law to paint a floral canvas for above our bed to replace some old paper fans that have been there for 10+ years. Time for something new and pretty! Love seeing the progress.
Jane's favorite colors lol.
We met up with Tom & Margi at Texas Roadhouse for dinner one night.
I saw these bright yellow birds out my office window one day and haven't seen them again since! What species are they?!
We've named these bunnies that visit our yard every day Pumpkin. I don't know which is which so they're both Pumpkin.
Birds have been flying into our windows so this is my remedy. So far so good.
Glorious weather. Although we did have to turn the heat on for two days. But now the AC is back on.
Fox got his braces off! Such a handsome young man (who needs to shave lol).
IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON BABY!! We watched the first game of the season and it was not boring.
Need to print this out and display it prominently in our home. We lost games 2 and 3 to heartbreaking last minute field goals. I don't want to talk about it.
Our Thursdays/Sundays/Mondays for the foreseeable future:
A new stadium for the Broncos was announced and should be finished in the 2030s! A roof means we'll be able to host Super Bowls and not freeze when it's snowing.
Let's go Broncos!
A Facebook ad got me. #LegallyBlonde
If you had told me even just 3 years ago I'd be watching football (and the Ryder Cup (golf)) I never would have believed you. But I have photo proof. It's fun having new hobbies and interests in my 40s.
First Broncos game! I made everyone wear merch. It worked, we won!
I got my 4th hole pierced on my right ear. I'm running out of real estate lol.
I started reading a series called The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion by Beth Brower and they're fantastic and so quirky.
While reading these books I find myself laughing out loud a lot which is always good for the soul. I'm currently reading Volume 3 of 8. Highly recommend.
Never will I ever forget 9/11/01.
The first of MANY dates in September! We saw Downton Abbey at the movie theater and it was great.
The next night we drove to Denver to see Nate Bargatze and were greeting by the most amazing rainbow.
I took a lot of pictures of said rainbow.
I've never seen a more perfect rainbow situated so picturesquely right above Denver.
When Nate first announced his Big Dumb Eyes tour we booked right away for his 1 night in Denver. Apparently it sold out so he added 2 more shows. Our show ended up being the last of his 3 shows here so he must have been pooped AAAND he was hosting the Emmys less than 24 hours later back in LA. He was asked to cancel his Denver shows because of the Emmys, thank goodness he didn't! He's a good guy.
We made it!
Nate was, of course, HILARIOUS. We always laugh so hard at his shows.
Screenshots of Nate's socials.
A few nights later we headed back to Denver for a Chevelle concert at The Fillmore.
We've been Chevelle fans for a LOOOOONG time but never seen them live before.
It was a sold out show.
We love rock'n'roll!
It was even better than I imagined it would be! So glad to finally have seeing Chevelle crossed off my bucketlist.
And then a few nights later we went to another concert! This time at Fiddler's Green which we've never been to before.
I got this bejeweled french fries purse in Vegas last year and bring it to concerts, it's the perfect size to hold my essentials.
Like Chevelle, Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin have been around since our late teens/early 20s but we'd never seen them before.
It was sooooooo good.
We didn't stay for Breaking Benjamin's entire set because we were antsy to get home and sleep since it was a school/work night.
I forgot my pretty floral puffy jacket in my seat whomp whomp. Never seeing that again! Guess I better go shopping :)
Then a few nights later we had tickets to the Monday Night Football Broncos vs Bengals game!!
It rained cats & dogs and there was lightning & thunder during our drive. Luckily by the time we parked and took the train closer to the arena the rain had stopped and there wasn't even a delay of game.
The sky was pretty, albeit ominous.
Best treat we've ever had at an event: fresh donuts! They were so good we went back for seconds.
We got lower level seats which felt like we were much more part of the action.
Hi Bo!
I follow Izzy Nix on instagram so it was fun to see her from afar in real life. On the right is our backup quarterback Jason Stidham with his wife and her super cute blue & orange Chanel purse.
Parachuters falling from the sky.
We bumped into Fox's best friend's parents who have season tickets they inherited - lucky ducks!
The sky turned pink & purple.
Gorgeous!
We stayed until we saw a touchdown right in front of our eyes, a few minutes before halftime. Broncos won 28-3. The Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow broke his toe in the first (or second?) game of the season and is out for at least 3 months. The Bengals didn't seem to stand a chance and only scored a 3-point field goal on their very first drive then nothing after. Sad but oh well! Go Broncos!
We started watching Halloween Baking Championship! I love when Jane actively asks if there is a new episode.
We decorated a few days before October 1st which goes against my self inflicted policy but it's always nice to deck the halls when Chris is home.
I'll share the results of our efforts next month!

Everyone's favorite update: the kitties! One night they BOTH snuggled me and it was the best 30 minutes of my September :)
Jane getting lovies from Sandy.
Fox getting lovies from Amy.
They spent a lot of time hanging out in my windowsill. These are all from different days/times. The weather has been fantastic, lots of open window days.
I was laying outside and they waited (im)patiently for me at the screen. Another angle of them snuggling me. I love Sandy's little feetsies hanging off the bed.
Amy should get an award for being the best cuddler. Look how she wraps her paw around me.
Various Amy pics from September. Can't handle her cuteness and companionship. Even as I type this she's asleep on her blanket on my desk, 18 inches away from me.
Sandy is... how do I put it into words?! Just look at her!
As we were watching Halloween Baking Championship she plopped herself right between us.
When we went to plug in our Halloween tree we moved the console back and found their hidden stash of toys. We laughed out loud for a long while.
My brother and his family got a kitten and named him Rome and I'm loving living vicariously through their pics. Can you spot him? :)

Onto scrappy things! I slowed down a lot in September which was so very nice and very much needed after a few too many crazy busy months. No new kit or class, but a lot going on behind the scenes for near future scrappiness!
Throughout September I shared a scrapbook, a mini album, and 8 layouts. Not too shabby! Click on the links to take you to each post for all the details and to read more about these projects:
Stitched Leaves Layout // Leaf Wreath Layout // Hexagons Layout // Flower Heart Layout
Make With Me Monday Layout // Tic-Tac-Toe Layout // Distressed Paper Strips Layout // Flower Bouquet Layout
Lovely Lane 4x4 Mini Album // Farmstead Harvest 6x8 Scrapbook
Prepping for my September Make With Me Monday
I upgraded my overhead camera to my Canon EOS 80D which I think is by far the best quality, woohoo!
Two months in a row of Make With Me Monday! Do you think we can go for 3?? :)
The next item on my too-long to-do list was making ribbons & trims bundles from my bin overflowing with extras.
These are all leftovers from previous kits.
Each bundle had about 35 ribbons. I loooove to add ribbons & trims onto the edges of my mini albums and scrapbooks.
The bundles sold out - thank you soooooo much!!
Palettes with Lovely Lane & Legendary arrived!
Amy is always happy to have a new playground, if only for a day or two.
I opened everything up, collated kits, and got pre-orders shipped out.
I also collated the 336 kits with Legendary for She Loves Color later this month and shipped them out to Wisconsin.
I still have LOVELY LANE & LEGENDARY full collections in my shop HERE which includes 3 class PDFs!
Onto the next project: a kit & class with the Hard Candy Christmas collection by Simple Stories!
It's taking me a long time to create this project - I need to give myself a deadline or it could go on for months lol.
Here are some sneaks of the progress:
To be on the first-to-know list when this kit & class is available, send me an email!
The 3rd week in September Andrea Lake & I taught our Happy Haven Virtual Weekend Event!
Screenshots from our opening & closing lives:
First I taught how to make a mini album.
Then I taught how to create six 12x12 layouts.
The next day was Andrea's turn! We had soooo much fun and hope you did too!
My Very Merry Christmas collection with Pinkfresh Studio was announced HERE! It should start shipping in October or November.
While I won't be doing pre-orders for Very Merry Christmas, I am planning to release a kit & class which will include the entire collection plus lots of exclusive extras like this ADORABLE ugly sweater sequin mini album in collaboration with Gi DeMello. Stay tuned!
Here's to a spooktacular October!! Things to look forward to: teaching in Texas, Disneyland, teaching at She Loves Color, reservations at Casa BOOnita, and Halloween of course!

  1. Whew! Considering you took a bit of a breather, your September looked pretty full on :D Your front porch looks pretty and inviting. We're hoping our mild weather will last for Halloween. It's been just above seasonal, but any day without snow is a bonus. Which often happens in October for us. Of course, I love seeing your kitty's. I still think of Amy as the super model of kitty's. Her face is so sweet. The only sport I usually watch is Oilers Hockey, but the whole country is watching baseball just now. Go Jays go! All the scrapbook projects and events look amazing, Go Paige go! :D
