Hello! Jackie Ashton here sharing a layout using Paige's Crafted Moments collection, this time creating a layout full of layers, texture, and little details.
In the UK over the summer months, several towns and cities do an art trail - each place using a different animal or character all decorated. These sculptures are placed around the city and you follow a trail to find them. This summer where I live they did Snoopy sculptures. It helps local charities make additional funds and give people the chance to visit parts of the city that you might not have visited before! For my layout, I started with a sheet of white cardstock and added a soft color wash of blue ink down the center. For the main design, I selected several designs from the 12x12 Paper Pack and cut them into strips ranging from 1" to 3" wide. After distressing the edges, I cut the strips down lengthways and arranged them down the center of the page, staggering the different lengths to create movement and interest. I also tucked lace trim over the paper strips which adds a lovely touch of texture and softness. My 3x2" photograph was backed with a few coordinating pieces of patterned paper before being added to the page using 3D foam. I love using foam to lift my photograph slightly from the page and give the layout a little extra dimension. To the right of the photograph, I added a vellum envelope. I printed the photographs of the sculptures into photo strips to tuck into the envelope. I decorated the front of the envelope with a few scraps of patterned paper and an Ephemera Die Cut, making the envelope part of the overall design while still keeping it functional and this is a great way to hold multiple photographs on your layout without it being too crowded. For even more texture, I added stamped and hand-stitched circles alongside circle Chipboard Stickers before finishing the page with a scattering of embellishments from Crafted Moments. I love how all the different layers, textures, and small details come together to create a layout that feels dimensional without becoming too busy. I hope you get some inspiration from my layout!
