The One with Movies and TV On DVD

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

I've recently seen a lot of movies and have become hooked to a bunch of shows on DVD. Here are my reviews.

First, we saw 17 Again. Cute. Funny. 7 out of 10.

Then we saw Push at the dollar theater as a last hoorah with Nate'n'Annie before they moved to California (cuz that's the thing to do these days :). Sorry Chris Evans, though you share the same name as my husband, this show was miserable and confusing. Even cute li'l Dakota Fanning, pink streak in her hair, acting like a drunkard and dropping a d-bomb and all, couldn't fix it. 2 out of 10.

This past weekend we saw Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Matthew McConaughey: play another part. And get rid of the accent. The only redeeming quality of this movie was the fact that they used the same girl who played young Jennifer Garner in 13 Going on 30 as the young Jennifer Garner in this movie. That was pretty sneaky. Oh, and the first ghost girl was pretty funny. Other than that, this movie = lame and raunchy. 3 out of 10. I've GOT to start reading reviews before going to new movies cuz this one tanked and I'm sick of wasting money.

Thanks to Alisha I now have a new show that I must watch: Project Runway. TiVo is starting to sound real good right about now. Too many shows, I can't keep up no mo! She let me borrow season 3 first and after three episodes, specifically, the one where they have to design an outfit inspired by a dog (animals always do me in :), I was hooked. Christian from season 4 has been my favorite so far. He's fierce. Ha.

And last, but certainly not least, I totally hit my friend Katie up on her offer to let someone borrow her four seasons of Felicity. I love Keri Russell, but I was too young to watch and appreciate this show when it was on air (1998-2002). She brought me the complete series and we delved right in. It only took me two episodes to realize that Julie played the Pink Power Ranger! Yeah, that's right. I was a BIIIIIG fan of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back in the day. And, I absolutely love the intro where they show pictures of the cast around New York in black and white. Keri Russell is DDG. Drop Dead Gorgeous.
Whelp. I'm gonna go watch the tele.

  2. Hey "L" (I never know whether to call you "L" or your real name :)...anyways) - Chris loves looking at rotten tomatoes. I just don't know why we haven't been looking there for movies I want to see. Or maybe we have and I just convinced myself the reviews were false. Oh well.
