The One with Klaipeda, Lithuania

Our day in Klaipeda, Lithuania was also Chris' 30th birthday!! Fun way and place to celebrate :) Our big-ol' boat docked right at the edge of town. We couldn't find anything about Klaipeda in any of our guidebooks, so we were on our own to explore to our heart's content.

JAZZ. I don't know what it means. Is it like jazz music? The name of a restaurant?
Following the crowds of cruiseship people and signs to the city center.
Whelp. This was the bridge we were supposed to walk across, so we stood and waited for awhile, but more and more boats kept passing through with no end in sight, so we turned around and walked the long way into town which was in the shade, there were more photo ops, and there weren't any other people, so I was fine with it.
Boats along the river.
I like this Old Mill Hotel.
And I like this half-timbered "barn" with green accents.
Detail shot.
Gimme these aqua doors, stat!
The main street.
In the center of the main square.
A peaceful bit of lake and greenery.
Our family in Klaipeda, Lithuania on Monday August 3rd 2015.
We saw this bouncy house across the river, so did the kids, and after that there was no turning back.
Let's just zoom in a little bit (or a lotta bit) on the above photo. HAHAHAHAHA. Oh Fox. He looks scared to death, but he went up and down at least 20 times so he must have loved it!
Jane went down her fair share too.
Detail shots of town.

Klaipeda, Lithuania - CHECK! As you can see, there wasn't a whole lot to do tourist-wise, BUT, it was nice and relaxing and fun to say we've been.
Next destination: Rostock, Germany! We were still on the cruise, but it stopped in our home country for the day!

  2. Well it wasn't the most exciting stop, but it is still cool to say I spent my birthday in Lithuania!
