Porsche Museum Layout

Most of, if not ALL, of the time when I'm scrapbooking I try and keep in mind "does this go or fit with the theme?" and try to keep things pretty flat - the thinner the embellishments, the more pages I can fit into a single scrapbook! But then I went to the Birds of a Feather retreat earlier this month and I came away rejuvenated and changing my thought process! Who cares if it does or doesn't "go"? And it doesn't matter if the embellies are thick, in fact, I LIKE the lumpy bumpies! On this layout I just tried to go with what I felt like doing and not worry about restrictions or what's "right" or "wrong" in scrapbooking :)
PORSCHE MUSEUM by Paige Evans
DESCRIPTION: I was trying to step out of my comfort zone while still making a layout in my style by using things that don't necessarily "go" with the photo and layering a whole bunch to create a chunky page :)
JOURNALING SAYS: What I wouldn't give to own a pink porsche! We loved walking around the museum (in Stuttgart, Germany).
HOW TO: This layout started with the Tangle of Hearts cut file that I die cut from Paper 14 and then hand stitched over using periwinkle thread. Ultimately I decided to cut out the hearts from the white cardstock and then mount the cut file onto the B side of Paper 07 (I actually adhered another section of Paper 07 to cover the flowers to create a solid black/white striped background). Then I made three clusters of embellishments using Chipboard Stickers, things from the Sticker BookEphemera Die CutsPuffy Stickers, and bits from the Specialty Paper. I also stamped trios of circles from the Acrylic Stamp set. No real rhyme or reason to why there's a purse on a layout about a car, but why not says I?! To add a little somethin' somethin' I tore the top right and bottom left edges and backed them with a lace punched border strip and patterned paper. I journaled inside one of the hearts to finish.
SUPPLIES: Patterned paper, stickers (alpha, chipboard, puffy), die cuts: Oh My Heart by Paige Evans / Pink Paislee; Cardstock, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo 3; Cut file: Tangle of Hearts; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Border punch: Fiskars

  2. Hi Paige!

You should do this more often... I mean, forget about the rules. Rules don't apply on scrapbooking <3
