The One with the Thank You Card for the CARDS Blog

Saturday, January 23, 2010

I did a post on the CARDS blog yesterday, and here's the card I made for the challenge which was to use a tree or branches on a card:

How to re-create this card:
1) Hand draw a tree with a brown pen on the front of a cream card base.
2) Go over the tree drawing with a sewing machine using brown thread and straight stitches.
3) Scatter a variety of red buttons and brads across the top of the tree.
4) Cut out a pair of green leaves for each embellishment from green carstock and adhere them in place. Bend the leaves up for dimension.
5) Add "thank you" mini letter stickers along one of the branches.
6) Tie wide double stitched ribbon into a bow and glue it onto the tree trunk.

Supplies:
Cardstock, ribbon, brads (fabric, glitter, jewel, pearl), buttons, pen: American Crafts; Letter stickers: Making Memories; Other: Sewing machine

There's a new challenge issued every Friday on the CARDS blog so come and play along!

You know?! I've been meaning to make a card for that challenge! I have an idea in my head! But I've been sick, and so I've just been watching DVDs... every single second that I'm not working or sleeping. LOL. I'll feel better this week. :D
